A delegation consisting of two teachers and 10 students, led by Ma Yuchao, deputy Party secretary of the School of Physical Education at Yunnan University (YNU), recently paid a visit to Silpakorn University in Thailand.

Representatives of the university met with the YNU delegation and extended a warm welcome to them. During the meeting, the Thai side briefed the visiting delegation on the current projects being undertaken by their university’s School of Physical Education.

Ma also explained the current work of YNU’s School of Physical Education to the Thai side. He suggested that both parties should expand their areas of partnerships and exchanges.

During their stay in Thailand, the YNU delegation visited the Grand Palace, the campuses of Silpakorn University and Chulalongkorn University. They learnt some Thai phrases, sampled some of the traditional Thai sports and tried Thai dancing, ceramics, and cuisine.

Both sides also played basketball, volleyball and tennis.

At the middle and primary school attached to Silpakorn University, the YNU delegation gave a martial arts demonstration to the students there and delivered a presentation on Chinese culture.

After their stay in Thailand, the 10 students returned to China while the two teachers remained at Silpakorn University where they will teach dancing and cheerleading for a month.
