Liu Chenglin, scholar at the Chinese Academy of Geological Sciences (CAGS), visited Yunnan University (YNU), and gave a lecture on theoretical research into salt, on Sept 7.

During the lecture hosted by Zhang Li, vice-president of YNU, Liu briefed the audience on the current research on Lop Nor Salt Lake, sylvite and on how to find a mine reserve.

Liu also made a systematic explanation on the basic theories of salt, including its economic value and current research areas, as well as likely future research trends.
