Xiong Gang, a sports teacher at Yunnan University (YNU), competed in the paragliding event at the 18th Asian Games that took place in Jakarta, Indonesia, on Aug 18.

This year’s Asian Games marked the first time that paragliding has been included as an official event at the games. 

He had previously qualified for the national delegation with a total score that ranked him in third place in last year’s national league. 

During this year’s Asian Games, Xiong secured ninth place in the category of men’s individual accuracy, the fifth place in the category of men’s group accuracy and eighth place in men’s group speeding.
