Yunnan University (YNU) greeted a new batch of freshmen on Aug 23. Among the new entrants, 4,400 are registered on undergraduate courses, with 3,800 registered to study for postgraduate qualifications.

In order to facilitate the registration process of the new arrivals, YNU set up special stands at the train station, bus stop and university to offer assistance. Volunteers were also on hand to provide help to freshmen and their parents.

The university even arranged medical stands to offer health advice to new the new students. As for students from low-income families, YNU arranged a special access point to facilitate their arrival and provided details of financial support on offer from the university.

Photographers from the university captured images of the new students as they passed the gate of the university on their way in, something the university has done for the past nine years.
