YNU delegation visits University of Tokyo

A delegation led by Zheng Hongbo, a professor at the Research Center of Earth System Sciences of Yunnan University (YNU), visited the University of Tokyo, from May 19 to 26.

The visit came at the invitation of Professor Ryuji Tada at the University of Tokyo and Professor Hodaka Kawahata, president of the Japanese Geoscience Union. 

Zheng was invited to attend the annual conference of the Japanese Geoscience Union, and delivered a report at the conference.

During the visit, both sides discussed further enhancing cooperation in their ongoing cooperative earth system sciences program. 

According to the program they have agreed on, a field investigation will be conducted every year, involving 30 students and teachers from each side. 

Professor Ryuji Tada is a world-famous geoscientist, and he claimed the title of “Yunling High-level Foreign Expert” awarded by the Yunnan Provincial Authority in 2018.
