An original drama produced by Shanxi Provincial Theater was staged at Yunnan University (YNU) on May 10.

“Life is a Song” extols soldiers stationed in Tibet autonomous region who have dedicated themselves to the development of the area.

The drama won the “gold drama award” and the “award for best scenario” at the 2016 National Theatrical Festival for Ethnic Minorities.

Prior to the performance, award-winning actor Dong Huaiyu, who plays the lead, spoke to the audience about his interpretation of the drama.

Following the show, students and teachers that had been in the audience expressed their delight and appreciation for the hard work of the actors. 

Ever since YNU proposed introducing various forms of art to the university, efforts have been made by teachers and students to make the proposal a reality.
