The School of Business and Tourism at Yunnan University (YNU) held an international seminar on wilderness areas and recreation in partnership with the Belt and Road Research Institute at the university, on April 21. 

More than 200 representatives from the United States’ Aldo Leopold Wildness Institute, the Development Research Center of the State Council, the Research Center of Geographical Sciences and Resources at the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Tsinghua University, YNU and various other non-governmental organizations attended the seminar. 

The scholars in attendance expressed their views on the subject of enhancing wilderness conservation and developing wilderness areas for recreational use throughout the country.

They also briefed the attendees on the international status quo of relevant research on the subject and proposed their suggestions for the construction of a preservation system for protected areas in China.
