The School of Mathematics and Statistics at Yunnan University (YNU) held a festive gala to celebrate YNU Girls’ Day, on April 23.

After a series of performances by students, the gala reached a climax as the hosts announced the winners for “the award of most beautiful girl”.

After a week of voting, eight girls from the School of Chemistry and Engineering, the School of Law Studies and the School of Mathematics and Statistics were awarded the title.

The annual Girls’ Day at YNU is usually scheduled in April, with the first one dating back to 2006. The event is designed to celebrate the contribution girls make to everyday life.

In 2015, YNU Girls’ Day was recognized for its efforts to enrich campus culture by Yunnan provincial education authority.
