A delegation led by Francine Schlosser, vice-president at the University of Windsor (UW) visited Yunnan University (YNU) to negotiate further cooperation and exchanges between both parties, on April 10.
YNU Vice-President Zhang Keqin and other representatives from the Department of International Cooperation and the School of Ecology and Environment at the university met with the delegation.
At the meeting, both parties reviewed the achievements China has made in partnership with Canada in ecological protection.
They also agreed on further expanding cooperation on the current basis to contribute their share to the conservation of lacustrine deposits.
After the meeting, the delegation was invited to visit YNU Qidi Kzhan Makerspace where Professor Schlosser addressed young entrepreneurs on UW’s latest research findings.
Yunnan province has long worked in partnership with Canada in the research of environmental conservation in water areas, with YNU and UW as the two leading research institutes.
The two sides have signed an agreement on forming a China-Canada Plateau Lake Alliance with the aim of resolving water-related environmental problems faced by humankind.
