YNU president visits three countries in Southeast Asia

Led by Li Xiaosan, minister of Yunnan Organization Department, Yunnan University (YNU) President Lin Wenxun and other representatives formed a delegation to visit Indonesia, Thailand and Myanmar, from March 28 to April 6.
During their stay in Indonesia, the delegation visited the Ministry of Technology and Higher Education, and met with representatives from Universitas Indonesia.
In Thailand, the delegation called on the Thai education authority, and held talks with Banchong Mahaisavariya, acting president of Mahidol University and Bundhit Eua-arporn, president of Chulalongkorn University.
During their visit to Myanmar, the delegation examined the work of the laboratory built by YNU and Mandalay University. They also visited the Fuqing Confucius Classroom and inquired about the progress of the construction of the China-Myanmar Vocational Technology College, which is another joint project between the two universities.
In addition, the delegates also visited China’s embassies in the three countries where they listened to the ambassadors’ advice on deepening cooperation between Yunnan province and the three countries, particularly in terms of developing higher education and training skilled workers with an international outlook.
