Officials from Chuxiong visit YNU to discuss partnership

A delegation from Yi autonomous prefecture of Chuxiong in Yunnan province visited Yunnan University (YNU) to discuss the direction a potential partnership could take, on April 3.

YNU met with the delegation led by Yang Jing, chairman of the prefecture’s committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC). 

Yang Lin, Party secretary at YNU; Zhang Li, vice-president at YNU, and other representatives from both sides attended the meeting.

During the meeting, Yang extended a warm welcome to the delegation. He praised the incentives Chuxiong had adopted to boost economic growth and the business benefits it had offered to encourage start-ups. 

Yang Lin vowed to provide support for the prefecture in areas such as training skilled workers and conducting scientific research. He expressed his requirements for relevant departments to make a detailed plan for the cooperative programs between both sides.

As the 60th anniversary of the founding of the prefecture approaches, Yang Jing briefed YNU leaders on the preparations for the anniversary ceremony, and expressed herwishes that YNU leaders might take part in the approaching ceremony. 

She encouraged YNU to do more to support the development of biomedicine and the healthcare industry in the prefecture.

Zhang Jing also claimed that the prefecture’s government would take measures to support YNU in transforming its research findings for practical use.
