A group of representatives from Huanggang Normal College (HNC) visited Yunnan University (YNU) to discuss the direction of their future partnership, on March 27.
Yang Lin, Party secretary at YNU and Li Jianyu, deputy Party secretary at YNU met with the delegation led by Wang Libing, Party secretary at HNC.
During the meeting, Yang extended a warm welcome to the delegation and briefed them on the current situation of YNU.
He also shared with the delegation the measures YNU had taken to boost the development of the university since it was selected for the “double first-rate program”, a program initiated by the national education authority to build first-rate universities and disciplines that are competitive at the international level.
Wang expressed thanks to YNU for its hospitality, and introduced the current standing of HNC. He claimed that YNU’s entry into the “double first-rate program” demonstrated that YNU had excelled in many areas such as social services, academic research and in the training of skilled workers.
He also expressed his intentions to learn from YNU’s practices to boost HNC’s development.
After the meeting, Wang planted a cedar symbolizing the friendship between the two universities at the “universities’ presidents’ forest” where a visiting university president to YNU traditionally plants a tree.
