YNU alumnus elected member of EASA

Cao Jinde, alumnus of Yunnan University (YNU)and professor from the School of Mathematics at Southeast University, was recently elected as member of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts (EASA).

EASA is a renowned interdisciplinary academic organization located in Salzburg, Austria, involving eight specialties –– the humanities, medicine, arts, natural sciences, social sciences, law, economics, technical and environmental sciences, and world religions.

The academy’s mission is to stimulate cross-disciplinary collaboration between reputable academics from all disciplines.

Cao graduated from YNU in 1989 as a Master of Science. He taught at YNU from 1989 to 2000. He is currently the chief professor at SEU, the deputy director of the academic committee of the university, the director of the science department, the dean of the School of Mathematics, the director of the network group intelligence key laboratory in Jiangsu province, and the director of the Research Center for Complex Systems and Network Sciences at SEU.

He has also been selected to be a member of Academia Europaea, fellow of the Pakistan Academy of Sciences, and IEEE Fellow.  

Cao has long been engaged in the study of complex networks and complex systems, neurodynamic systems and their optimization, as well as multi-agent systems. He has published dozens of papers in academic journals.

His six papers published between 2006 and 2015 have won awards for their influence. Cao is a highly-cited scientist in the three fields of engineering, computer science and mathematics.
