YNU draws blueprint to boost tourism in underdeveloped area
Yunnan University (YNU) co-hosted a meeting with the tourism authority of Huize county in Yunnan province to examine a plan devised by YNU to boost Huize’s tourism industry, on Jan 18.
The meeting was attended by a panel of provincial tourism experts, who expressed their admiration for the blueprint drawn up by YNU to promote the development of tourism in the area.
The plan was part of the poverty alleviation program initiated by YNU in 2016, which was aimed at developing the county of Huize.
Despite not receiving any funding for the project, YNU has still made it a priority. Lyu Wanqing, dean of the School of Business and Tourism, organized a research team to conduct the project.
In order to collect first-hand material of the current situation in the area, members of the team have visited every village in the county.
