YNU teams up with CAS to develop graduates

Yunnan University (YNU) signed a deal with the Institute of Atmospheric Physics at the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) to jointly develop graduates studying atmospheric sciences, at Yunnan University, on Dec 21, 2017.

Attendees at the signing ceremony included Lu Riyu, vice-dean of the Institute of Atmospheric Physics at CAS; Zhang Wei, vice-president of YNU and other representatives from the institute at CAS and the School of Resources and Environment at YNU.

YNU Vice-President Zhang praised the graduate program jointly developed by both parties. He claimed that joining forces with CAS would raise YNU’s teaching standards. He also extended his wishes to enhance cooperation in the graduate program and in other fields.

Lu introduced the history of cooperation between the two parties and the history of the institute. He vowed to continue to show support for the development of the program in atmospheric sciences at YNU. He also pointed out the significant role YNU will be playing in developing atmospheric sciences in the context of the Belt and Road Initiative.

Wu Jian, dean of the Office of Academic Affairs at YNU, introduced the development of the graduate program co-founded by both parties, and expressed his wishes for further achievements.

Both parties had previously signed an agreement to jointly develop a bachelor’s degree in atmospheric sciences in 2013.
