YNU holds folk music concert to celebrate New Year

Yunnan University (YNU) held a folk music concert to celebrate the approaching New Year holiday on Dec 22, 2017.

The concert was attended by more than 1,200 faculty members and students including Li Jianyu, deputy Party secretary of YNU; Wang Jianhua, vice-president of YNU; and Yu Chunbin, secretary of the Youth League Committee of YNU.

The concert featured folk music played by performers with the traditional instruments of YNU students’ art troupe.

All 10 pieces of music were classic Chinese folk songs and were all performed with traditional Chinese musical instruments.

Some honored guests were also invited to enjoy the performance such as Zhang Shude, chairman of the Yunnan Guzhen Association, who praised the performance when invited to address the audience during the concert.
