YNU leader inspects poverty-stricken village

Zhang Changshan, deputy Party secretary of Yunnan University (YNU), led several faculty members at the poverty alleviation department, to Hebian village in Fengqing county to investigate local poverty alleviation efforts, from Dec 16 to 18, 2017.

A meeting was held where Zhang listened to reports about poverty alleviation efforts by local village officials and YNU staff members stationed in the village to support the officials.

During the meeting, Zhang recognized the efforts made by village officials and YNU staff members, and urged YNU staff members to follow the rules and be responsible for poverty relief work.

Zhang then inspected the projects initiated by YNU as part of the local poverty alleviation program, including a cement road, solar street lamps, and a primary school, and offered subsidies and gifts to low-income residents.

During the tour, Zhang, on behalf of YNU, vowed to continue efforts to help with local poverty alleviation and encouraged local residents to live a prosperous life through hard work.
