Yang Lin, Party secretary of Yunnan University, pointed out that the Belt and Road Initiative will strengthen international exchange and cooperation in higher education.

He emphasized that universities must strive to cultivate students' awareness of openness and sharing, adding that the next generation should shoulder the responsibility of building a global cultural community of common destiny. 

Yang said that he hopes universities will cooperate to advance higher education, and more positive responses will be received from universities in the future.

Deputy director Zhu, together with Yang, took time out from the forum to attend the launch ceremony of the Belt and Road Initiative Institute of Yunnan.

The chairman of TUS Holdings presents his company's donation to Yunnan University.

The vice-president of YMCI Corporation makes a further donation.

Wang Jiwu, chairman of TUS Holdings, donated 10 million yuan ($1.51 million) to Yunnan University as research funds for the institute. Feng Xuelan, vice-president of YMCI Corporation, donated one million yuan as that company's contribution for the same purpose.
