Purpose

Baosteel is funding the Baosteel Scholarship at Yunnan University to encourage hardwork and excellence.

Selection Scope

Outstanding full-time undergraduates and postgraduates are eligible.

Eligibility

1. Applicants should love their country and support the leadership of the Chinese Communist Party, comply with the CPC's Constitution and the law and abide by the rules and regulations of the school, have good character and habits and be honest and trustworthy.

2. Applicants should focus on study, have good innovative spirit and knowledge application ability. Postgraduates should have strong research capacity with some achievements.

3. Applicants should be caring, uniting with other students and show respect towards their teachers. They should also actively join social practices and public benefic activities, with sound social work ability and strong team spirit.

4. Applicants should take active part in physical exercises, have good mental and physical health, and be optimistic and enterprising.

5. Undergraduate applicants should have an average of 85 or more for their major courses in the last semester and have received first prize of university-level scholarship or above. Graduate applicants should have an average of 85 or more for their major courses in the last semester and have received second prize of university-level scholarship or above., and have published thesis on provincial level or higher journals as the first author (It is acceptable for students be second when their instructor is the first author).

Application Time

June every year.

Award Standard

Ten excellent students may be awarded 5,000 yuan ($754.03) and one outstanding student may be awarded with 10,000 yuan.

Winner Amount

Eleven students each year.
