Geophysics Major Endeavor Scholarship
Purpose
The Geophysics Major Endeavor Scholarship was established to inspire students
Chinese Academy of Sciences Geology and Geophysics Institute funded the "Geophysics Major Endeavor Scholarship" in Yunnan University to inspire students to study hard and innovate.
Selection Scope
Outstanding full-time students majoring in geophysics. (Freshmen are not eligible to apply.)
Eligibility
a. Basic requirements
1. Applicants should be patriotic and support the leadership of the Chinese Communist Party, and have a positive attitude towards life;
2. Applicants should comply with the CPC's Constitution and the law and abide by the rules and regulations of the school;
3. Applicants should be honest and trustworthy, and have good moral character;
4. Applicants should participate actively in physical exercise and campus and extracurricular activities and be in good health.
5. Applicant should love studying and their major, and actively join in social practices and science activities.
6. Students with one of the following conditions are not eligible.
(1) Students subject to criticism or punishments for violating school rules and regulations;
(2) Students who failed a course in the year;
(3) Students who for no acceptable reason do not pay fees for tuition and accommodation during the year.
b. Classified and detailed requirements
1. First prize: besides the basic requirements, applicants should have an average score of above 90 for all their subjects and comprehensive quality evaluation scores of over 90 points.
2. Second prize: besides the basic requirements, applicants should have an average score of above 85 for all their subjects and and comprehensive quality evaluation scores of over 85 points.
3. Third prize: besides the basic requirements, an average score of above 80 for all their subjects and and comprehensive quality evaluation scores of over 80 points.
Application Time
November each year.
Award Standard
One first prize winner each year and each student may be awarded 4,000 yuan ($604.18);
Two second prize winners each year and each student may be awarded 3,000 yuan;
Five third prize winners each year and each student may be awarded 2,000 yuan.
Winner Amount
Eight students each year.
