Purpose

In order to promote education development and cultivate talents, Zhao Zhanyue, chairman of Yinghui Investment Co Ltd and his wife Pan Yehong provided donations to set up the Yuehong Graduate Scholarship in Yunnan University, inspiring graduate students to study hard for further development of China, and to become excellent talents in both morality and learning.

Eligibility

1. Applicants should have a firm grasp of the correct political orientation, adhering to the Party's basic line, conscientiously studying Marxism-Leninism, Mao Zedong Thoughts, Deng Xiaoping Theory and the Theory of Three Represents.

2. Applicants should be patriotic and possess the virtues of respecting teachers and having unity with classmates.

3. Applicants should have good moral qualities, civilized behaviors and habits, and comply with national laws and regulations and school rules.

4. Applicants should have a strong sense of collectivism, and love doing social work.

5. Applicants should be hard-working and excellent in their specialties.

6. Applicants should have remarkable scientific research achievements, strong practice and innovation abilities.

Application Time

Applications should be submitted in November every year.

Scholarship Amount

The scholarship is 150,000 yuan ($22,582) per year. The first-class scholarship is 5,000 yuan for each person, the second-class scholarship is 3,000 yuan for each person, and the third-class scholarship is 2,000 yuan each person.

Scholarship Quotas

Ten students will get first-class scholarships, including four from the School of Physical Science and Technology. Twenty second-class scholarship winners include eightfrom the School of Physical Science and Technology, and twenty third-class scholarship winners  may be eight from the School of Physical Science and Technology.
