Purpose

The Kong Leong Pui-yee Scholarship was provided by Mrs Kong Leong Pui-yee to encourage and support students in Yunnan University who are excellent in character and learning and come from low-income families.

Selection Scope

Undergraduates who are natives of Yunnan province

Eligibility

1. Applicants should love China and abide by its laws and regulations, and observe the university's discipline and rules in an exemplary fashion.

2. Applicants should be excellent in character and learning.

3. The average monthly income of each person in the urban and rural applicants' family must be less than 180 yuan ($27.14) and 120 yuan respectively.

4. Applicants must never have been disciplined in any form by the university

5. The recipients shall inform Mrs Kong Leong Pui-yee in written form after getting a job.

6. Applicants shall donate 50 yuan every month in their first year of employment to the children of less well-off families to help them complete their studies.

Application Time

The evaluation begins on Oct 8 and ends on Nov 1 every year.

Award Amount

2,500 yuan each student
