YNU strengthens cooperation with East and Southeast Asia ​

Cai Jianing, deputy director-general of the Department of International Cooperation of Ministry of Science and Technology of China (MOST), paid a visit to Yunnan University on Nov 2, getting a further view of the school's cooperation with East and Southeast Asian regions.

Lin Wenxun, president of Yunnan University, gave a briefing to Cai Jianing in regards to the detailed cooperation between the Yunnan University and East and Southeast Asian countries in fields of scientific researches, cultural exchanges and joint talent training.

Lin said that the university plans to establish close cooperation with influential colleges and universities in East and Southeast Asian countries, to co-build a joint laboratory, science and technology innovation center, and a regional nation-level research center.

Yunnan University will also work on the application of a resource and environment joint laboratory between the university and Myanmar's Mandalay University.

Cai Jianing affirmed the efforts and positive role of Yunnan University in the science and technology innovation and cooperation with East and Southeast Asian countries.

He said the Department of International Cooperation of MOST will support and impel the Yunnan University's works with East and Southeast Asian countries, especially the resource and environment joint laboratory between the university and Mandalay University.
