Champion camp members of "Chinese Bridge" Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign Secondary School Students visited Yunnan University and shared their experience in the Chenggong campus on Oct 27.

Yang welcomed the champion camp members. He briefed them on the history of the school and the achievements made in recent years. 

He said that he hopes the members will introduce Yunnan University to more students and friends, allowing foreign youths to learn more about the university, and eventually choose to study and live there.

The competition is organized by Confucius Institute Headquarters (Hanban) and undertook by Yunnan University, intending to showcase the achievements of Chinese Bridge in the past ten years.

At the meeting, the champions shared their experience of participating in the competition and thanked the warm reception given by Yunnan University. They said that they will do well as messengers to spread Chinese culture.

After the meeting, the students visited the Zehu Lake, Belt and Road Research Institute, the library and other places. They planted magnolia trees, which symbolize friendship, on behalf of their countries in the international forest of Yunnan University.

During the trip, the champion camp members will visit Kunming, Lijiang and Beijing to experience local culture. Their experiences and stories will be noted and published to interpret the Chinese Bridge theme of "Learn Chinese, Double your world".

Zhang Li, member of the standing committee of Yunnan University CPC Committee and vice-president of Yunnan University, and officials from relevant departments, attended the meeting.
