Yunnan University officials meet a delegation from the University of Windsor in Yunnan University campus on Oct 24.

A delegation from Canada's University of Windsor, led by Alan Wildeman, president of the university, met with Yunnan University president Lin Wenxun on Oct 24. Among other things, they discussed deepening cooperation on plateau lake research. The two sides also signed a supplementary Memorandum of Cooperation on expanding academic communication and exchanges.

Lin briefly described their cooperative history and spoke about their future plans. In response, Wildeman suggested that the University of Windsor should work with Yunnan University and two others in southwestern China to open a water basin and environmental management course with credit transfer availability in a bid to propel student exchanges and research cooperation.

Lin responded by saying that Yunnan University's relevant schools will talk to the University of Windsor to make practical plans for the course from which he hopes further cooperative possibilities will arise.

The University of Windsor has advantages in areas like lake research and water resource management, and in recent years the two universities have made fruitful achievements in the study of plateau lake management.
