On June 14, Xiamen Cardiovascular Hospital Xiamen University (XMCH) held a ceremony to mark the fifth anniversary of the relocation and inauguration of International Medical Center.

International guests, including Andrei Andreev, consul general of Belarus in Shanghai, Chng Tze Chia, consul general of Singapore in Xiamen, and Ms Nilobol Pimdee, acting consul general of Thailand in Xiamen, attended the event.

At the ceremony, Wang Yan, president of XMCH, emphasized the significant achievements made in internationalizing the hospital in recent years, attributing much of this success to the continuous deepening of foreign exchanges and collaborations through leveraging diplomatic resources and channels.

In recent years, the Foreign Affairs Office of the Xiamen Municipal People's Government (XMFAO) has utilized its diplomatic resource channels to support and facilitate the international development of XMCH.

For example, the XMFAO has helped XMCH to enhance and expand the Heart Sapling Visiting Scholar Program to target BRICS countries and the "Group of Friends of the GDI" countries, recommending that it be included in the Global Development Project Pool.

Through the coordination of the XMFAO, president Wang and his team were invited to visit Brazil, Colombia, and El Salvador for exchanges.

The XMFAO also helped XMCH host a sub-forum during the Global South Think Tanks Dialogue held in Xiamen, where they engaged in interactive discussions with international think tank experts on building a global health community and deepening international cooperation.
