Malaysian state boosts tourism exchanges with Xiamen

A delegation from Malaysia headed by Yeoh Soon Hin, executive councillor of Penang State, visited Xiamen, Fujian province from April 18 to 23 to boost exchanges with the Chinese city in tourism.

The Malaysian delegation attended the 2019 Xiamen International Leisure Tourism Expo, which was held from April 19 to 21, to promote their attractive scenic spots and special local products.

On April 19, Liu Shaoqing, deputy director of the standing committee of the CPC Xiamen Municipal Party Committee, met with Yeoh Soon Hin.

Liu said that Penang State has maintained close exchanges with Xiamen in various fields since they established friendly relations 26 years ago.

He suggested further cooperation between the two places in culture, tourism and trade.

During their stay in Xiamen, the delegation visited Xiamen Internet of Things Association to learn about the development of smart city and smart tourism in the city.

Yeoh Soon Hin spoke highly of the progress Xiamen has made in the construction of smart city and expected more exchanges in the area with the Chinese city in the future.
