The Red Dot Design Museum in Xiamen, Fujian province is the third one of its kind in the world.
The museums are used to present the award-winning designs of Red Dot Design Award, one of the top three design awards in the world, with the two other museums being located in Germany and Singapore.
The Xiamen museum, rebuilt from Terminal 2 of the city's Gaoqi Airport, consists of four parts with a total area of 10,000 square meters: an exhibition area, a Red Dot Design salon, a Red Dot Design School and a Design Library.
It also set up three permanent exhibition halls to display an array of innovative exhibits.
