S Korea seeks to advance business cooperation with Xiamen

The newly appointed director of the Xiamen office of Korea Trade-investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), Jung Sung-hwa, visited the Chinese city's Foreign and Overseas Chinese Affairs Office Aug 8.

Li Xiaoping, head of the office in Xiamen, updated Jung on the citiy's latest achievements and its key fields of economic development.

Li said he hoped Jung will make full use of his abundant working experience in China to contribute to trade and economic cooperation between Xiamen and South Korea.

Jung said that since KOTRA established its Xiamen office in 2011, the office has encouraged numerous local business people to attend exhibitions, fairs and forums in South Korea.

Jung said he is looking forward to advancing relations with local government agencies and people from Xiamen's financial and business community.

Established in 1962, KOTRA is a state-funded trade and investment promotion organization with the aim of facilitating South Korea's export-led economic development through trade promotion activities. So far, it has established 127 offices in 86 countries, 19 of which are in China.
