In the newly released list of National Logistics Hub Layout Cities by the National Development and Reform Commission, Xiamen has been prominently featured in multiple categories, establishing itself as a regional hub for land, sea, and air transportation along the southeastern coast of China.
The city is actively advancing the development of an international comprehensive transportation hub, along with port-based, airport-based, and commercial service-based national logistics hubs.
As a port-based national logistics hub, Xiamen is accelerating the optimization of its port functions, focusing on strengthening its position as an international shipping center and a hub for international container mainline services. By the end of 2024, Xiamen Port operated 186 container shipping routes, including 145 routes dedicated to foreign trade.
Additionally, the Xiamen airport-based national logistics hub, approved last year, aims to leverage Xiamen's strategic advantages in integrating sea, land, and air operations within the Xiamen Free Trade Zone.
