Green, low-carbon shipping in focus at Xiamen city forum

Xiamen recently hosted a forum on green and low-carbon shipping, called the Jointly Build The "Green Rhythm Xiamen Bay". It attracted over 200 influential experts, academics and industry elite, as well as government officials from both home and abroad.

They gathered to discuss new global trends in green and low-carbon shipping and to jointly explore new pathways for the development of the"Green Rhythm Xiamen Bay" project.

At the forum, the organizers released the achievements and initiatives of the "Green Rhythm Xiamen Bay" development.  

To further standardize the refueling process and ensure the safety of ship refueling, the Xiamen Free Trade Zone Administrative Committee and other authorities jointly issued liquefied natural gas fueling and biofuel fueling operations safety guidelines trial for Xiamen waters ship.

Moreover, several parties have signed cooperation agreements to jointly promote the deeper and more substantial implementation of the Green Rhythm Xiamen Bay project. 

In one initiative, Xiamen Port and Singapore Port signed a cooperation agreement to jointly establish the first "Green Shipping Corridor" in Fujian province.

Meanwhile, thirteen representatives from government departments, research institutions, academia and industry stakeholders discussed the latest trends in green port and shipping development. In a raft of speeches, they talked about the challenges, policy innovations and technological advancements, helping to foster extensive dialogues and in-depth exchanges.
