To date, the Xiamen Free Trade Zone has launched over 600 innovative measures, with 31 pilot reform experiences being promoted nationwide.
In April 2023, a new "smart cloud sorting" system was launched, which shortened the entire cargo receiving process by 90 percent to just 15 minutes, while also reducing the number of times containers are handled and transported at the Haitian Terminal by 50 percent.
An air cargo e-platform, which uses digital methods to reduce cargo clearance time and improve import and export efficiency, was launched in the Xiamen FTZ in 2020. The platform enhanced Xiamen Port's capabilities in air cargo digitalization, facilitation, and information interconnectivity.
In January, the Xiamen Digital Port Platform was launched, providing one-click access to 211 application services related to air transport, sea transport, and bonded services, with 20 of these services being the first of their kind in China. It has helped enterprises improve operational efficiency by over 50 percent and is expected to save businesses 150 million yuan ($20.7 million) annually.
Digitalization continues to extend the service scope of the Xiamen FTZ. The Xiamen Digital Port Platform is the first to launch the "self-service delivery of certificates of origin" service, which has been used by 438 enterprises to apply for 5,060 customs certificates of origin.
