The first "non-self-produced medical equipment bonded repair services" pilot project was recently approved and implemented at Plexus (Xiamen) Co Ltd, an enterprise based in the Xiamen Free Trade Zone.
This pilot project signifies the expansion of bonded repair services in the Xiamen FTZ, moving from repairing self-produced products to being able to repair similar products from abroad.
This shift accelerates the integration of enterprises into the international processing and trade system, laying a solid foundation for them to enter the high-end medical equipment industrial chain and promoting the high-quality development of the Xiamen Comprehensive Bonded Zone.
The Plexus staff stated that through global bonded repair, they can expand their repair services beyond their own products to include repair projects for products manufactured by other multinational companies, greatly expanding their business potential.
It is estimated that the move will increase the company's repair service volume by approximately 50,000 units per year, generating additional annual revenue of around $50 million and creating about 200 new jobs.
Due to the favorable policies, other multinational companies are currently in discussions for reserve projects with Plexus, which is expected to lead to an additional annual revenue of $100 million per year for the company.
