The 1,000th "Silk Road Maritime" sea-rail intermodal daily train recently arrived at Xiamen International Logistics Port carrying 40 "Silk Road Maritime" smart containers, which were transported to the Haitian Terminal of Xiamen Port after unloading and will be loaded onto a ship bound for Southeast Asian ports.
This train carried auto parts worth over 10 million yuan ($1.39 million), all loaded using "Silk Road Maritime" smart containers, which are equipped with mobile communication and satellite positioning technology, enabling full-process logistics visualization.
The "Silk Road Maritime" sea-rail intermodal daily train running between Xiamen in Southeast China's Fujian province and Xiangtang town in Nanchang, East China's Jiangxi province has transported a total of 70,200 standard containers since its official launch in March last year.
The range of transported goods has gradually expanded from over 30 types to more than 200 types, including high-value-added products.
The train has become a powerful tool for Xiamen Port to expand its hinterland cargo sources, playing an important role in connecting Jiangxi to Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and other Belt and Road partners. It is developing into a so-called "Southeast China Logistics Golden Channel".
The "Silk Road Maritime" sea-rail intermodal daily train is a high-efficiency, low-cost, and intelligent import and export logistics route jointly created by the Silk Road Maritime Alliance partners with the support of port authorities in Fujian and Jiangxi provinces.
