China's self-designed and currently the world's largest 77,000-metric-ton professional pulp cargo vessel, known as the GREEN RIO GRANDE, arrived at Xiamen Port with 65,000 tons of imported pulp on board on May 13. Xiamen Port is the first domestic port the vessel has docked at since it started operating in January this year.

The GREEN RIO GRANDE has a length of 225 meters, a beam of 32.26 meters, a depth of 21 meters, and a designed speed of up to 15 knots.

In addition to transporting pulp cargo, this vessel can also meet the loading requirements of various goods such as new energy vehicles, high-speed trains, wind power equipment, and large machinery. It serves as an important guarantee for China's foreign trade "new three items" maritime transportation.

The paper industry in Fujian province has established a solid position in the international market with its production equipment at an advanced international level and complete post-processing capabilities.

According to statistics, from January to April, imports of pulp at Xiamen Port reached 173,800 tons, an increase of 52.4 percent year-on-year.

The choice of Xiamen Port as the first port of call for the world's largest professional pulp cargo vessel will further integrate Xiamen Port into the global pulp logistics industrial chain, ensuring a stable supply of raw materials for China's pulp products.
