Maldivian President Mohamed Muizzu led a delegation to Xiamen on Jan 8.
Cui Yonghui, secretary of the CPC Xiamen Municipal Committee extended a warm welcome to President Muizzu and his delegation, and briefed them on the situation in Xiamen.
He expressed Xiamen's willingness to work with the Maldives to promote pragmatic cooperation in trade, investment, cultural exchange, and tourism, and contribute to the high-quality construction of the Belt and Road Initiative and the development of China-Maldives relations.
During their visit to Xiamen, President Muizzu and his delegation toured the Xiamen Area of the China (Fujian) Pilot Free Trade Zone, watched promotional videos showcasing the city's urban image, and learned about the Dongdu Port Area of Xiamen Port, the Xiamen International Cruise Terminal, Xiamen Sea World, Xiamen's reform and opening-up process, as well as its foreign trade situation.
President Muizzu expressed his delight at visiting Xiamen and conveyed his gratitude to the city for the warm reception extended to the delegation.
