Xiamen UNISCO recently became the first shipping agency in Xiamen Customs District to obtain the Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) certification.

This achievement also signified a breakthrough of "zero" in the AEO-certified shipping agency industry in Fujian province.

Xiamen UNISCO, which specializes in the customs clearance of international container shipping, primarily conducts business with countries and regions such as Europe and Southeast Asia, both of which have achieved AEO mutual recognition with China.

Obtaining the AEO certification not only allows the company to benefit from a range of preferential policies domestically but also enhances its international reputation and credibility among trading partners, thereby improving its soft power in foreign trade.

The AEO is the highest level in customs credit management. Companies that have obtained the AEO certification get to enjoy a lower inspection rate, priority in processing customs clearance procedures for import and export goods, and reduced frequency of customs audits.

Additionally, AEO-certified enterprises can benefit from facilitation measures provided by economies, countries, and regions that have achieved mutual recognition with China in terms of AEO. These measures reduce trade costs related to areas such as ports, terminals, and logistics, and serve as a "green pass" for global trade.
