The Xiamen Lixing Customs Broker submitted a declaration for a shipment of furniture worth approximately $13,300 through the international trade "single window" system on Jan 1.

This marks the first cross-border e-commerce transaction declared by the Xiamen Lixing Customs Broker in 2024, as well as the first cross-border e-commerce shipment undergo customs clearance at Xiamen Port in the new year.

Several minutes after the customs declaration was submitted, the declaration system received a receipt stating "Customs clearance has been granted." The goods were then loaded onto a cargo ship at Haicang Port Area of Xiamen Port and shipped to the United States on Jan 2.

"Even during the holidays, our services do not stop, as we understand the urgent needs of our clients to export their goods. We continue to operate, ensuring a prosperous start to the year," stated Zhang Huili, general manager of the Xiamen Lixing Customs Broker.

"The customs clearance process has been accelerated, with improved efficiency. The implementation of services in the customs area supports the development of cross-border e-commerce, resulting in cost savings for businesses," added Zhang.

The establishment of the cross-border e-commerce supervision center in Xiamen has brought about many opportunities for businesses.

Leveraging the advantages of the China-Europe railway express, the Maritime Silk Road, and the Air Silk Road, Xiamen has become a preferred customs clearance hub for surrounding cities, leading to a remarkable clustering effect in the industry.

In recent years, there has been a significant surge in cross-border business handled by enterprise agents, with a projected total of over 30,000 completed customs declarations by 2023.
