The Xiamen Haicang Dongcha cross-border e-commerce customs supervision center officially began operating on October 19. This is the second of its kind established within the Xiamen Free Trade Zone.

To support the new supervision center, the Haicang Hairun wharf has added a new cargo route between Xiamen and Jinmen. With goods being released from the supervision center and loaded onto the ship in less than 2 hours, this newly operational route mainly carries cross-Strait sea freight e-commerce goods.

Three shipments will take place every week, effectively alleviating the storage and transportation pressure on the Dongdu Port area caused by the continuous growth of the Xiamen-Jinmen shipping business.

The Xiamen FTZ has in recent years collaborated with Xiamen Customs and promoted the optimization of the layout of cross-border e-commerce supervision centers. Several such centers have been established near airports and ports, pioneering the integration of post offices, airports, wharves, and supervision centers nationwide.

This has greatly improved the efficiency of cross-border goods clearance, contributing to the increase in cross-Strait maritime express merchandise and air freight volumes in Xiamen.
