The 2023 China Golden Rooster & Hundred Flowers Film Festival – featuring the 36th China Golden Rooster Awards – will be held in East China's Xiamen city on Nov 1-4, according to a press conference held in Beijing on Oct 9.
The main activities of this year's film festival include an opening and award giving, a film exhibition, an academic forum, a Golden Rooster film market and a film industry learning forum.
In addition, the 5th Golden Rooster Films Project Market and the 4th Golden Rooster Cross-Straits, Hong Kong and Macau Youth Short Film Festival will also be presented.
To improve the level of professionalism of the film festival, this year's event has further explored ways to enhance its internationalization, mass participation and effectiveness.
Focusing on the BRICS countries, countries and regions involved in the Belt and Road Initiative and Xiamen's sister cities, the festival this year will showcase top-flight films from over 30 countries and regions.
Film and television cultural activities that run through the year and cover the entire city have been planned. Since the start of this year, over 30 film exhibitions have been held, which are reportedly being well received by the public.
This year's film festival will organize a centralized signing for a group of cultural film and television industry projects, thereby building more platforms and carriers for the development of the film and television industry.
