The pilot reform of air freight electronic informatization in the Xiamen Area of China (Fujian) Pilot Free Trade Zone is now being replicated across the nation.

Since its designation as one of the pilot ports of the Asia-Pacific Model Electronic Port Network (APMEN) in 2017, Xiamen has been at the forefront of exploring electronic informatization and facilitation of air freight, and this has led to the establishment of the Xiamen FTZ air e-freight platform.

The platform connects various stakeholders in the aviation logistics industry chain and enables online sharing of information. This optimization of the air freight process has resulted in reduced time and labor costs for air import and export operations. Furthermore, the platform ensures data quality and improves the efficiency of information transfer.

Xiamen Port has completed its transition into a paperless and electronic era for air freight operations, and this has resulted in significant increases in import and export logistics efficiency and reduced operating costs for enterprises.

To date, the platform has integrated itself with airlines from 17 countries and regions involved in the Belt and Road initiative. Since the beginning of this year, the cumulative operation volume of the platform has exceeded 165,000 tickets. This includes 66,600 tickets for import waybill electronic operations and 98,300 tickets for export waybill electronic operations.
