The first Xiamen-Taipei cross-border e-commerce express shipping route has been a success since it was launched on April 19, transporting over 12,000 containers and approximately 350 million yuan ($48.51 million) worth of exports, according to local authorities.

This route is now the preferred transportation choice for cross-border e-commerce merchants in Southeast China's coastal cities.

Because of this route, consumers in Taiwan can receive their online purchases from the Chinese mainland as quickly as within five days.

The route is serviced by two direct trips on Wednesdays and Sundays every week.

One of the ships that ply this route is the Huahang-6 cargo vessel.
