Some of the participants of the Suzhou Development Summit, which was held from May 20 to 21, were invited to visit Suzhou New District after the summit.

They toured the Suzhou campus of Nanjing University and the exhibition center of the Taihu Science City to learn about the district's scientific innovation, industrial cultivation, and talent attraction efforts.

The guests spoke highly of the district's rapid development and showed strong confidence in its future development.

"Siemens has always closely monitored its development in Suzhou," noted Markus Grabmeier, executive vice-president of Germany's Siemens AG. "SND has a great business environment and abundant talent and the local government offers strong support."

Siemens has located the China and East Asia headquarters for its electrical products in SND, enabling its products to be sold to over 20 countries and regions in East Asia.

Wang Chenyu, vice-chairman of Sequoia Capital, said that he was impressed by Suzhou's service consciousness and its resolution to create the best possible business environment.

In 2021, Sequoia Capital invested in a medical device project in SND. Wang said that he will recommend SND to more businesspeople and work to bring more projects to the district.

SND is one of the first national high-tech districts in China. Over the past three decades, the district has pursued innovation-driven development. It is currently promoting the construction of Taihu Science City and leading the development of the Science and Technology Innovation Circle around Taihu Lake.
