Suzhou New District honored a group of model workers on April 29 as a salute to all workers out there and a celebration of Labor Day on May 1, local media outlets reported.
The event honored eight Jiangsu provincial-level model workers and advanced worker candidates, as well as 18 Suzhou city-level model workers.
Workers at a workshop of Lexy, a Suzhou-based manufacturer of home appliances, won an honorary title from the All-China Federation of Trade Unions for their years of perseverance in sharpening their professional skills and remaining vibrant and dynamic. The workshop has become an industrial demonstrator to lead domestic peers in smart manufacturing.
The total number of model workers at all levels in SND has reached 161.
An exhibition hall promoting the stories and spirits of model workers in SND opened to the public the same day.
