The Ministry of Justice (MOJ) recently launched a training program for foreign-related lawyers nationwide, featuring practical training sessions in Beijing and specialized training sessions for corporate lawyers in Chongqing. The program seeks to strengthen the legal service capacity of foreign-related lawyers and to better serve the country's high-quality development and high-level opening-up.

Wu Zeng, a member of the leading Party members' group and vice minister of the MOJ, attended the opening ceremony of the Beijing training sessions and delivered a speech.

The program thoroughly follows the guiding principles of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and its plenary sessions, as well as Xi Jinping Thought on the Rule of Law, particularly the important instructions made by Xi Jinping, general secretary of the CPC Central Committee, on strengthening foreign-related rule of law, and the guiding principles of the central conference on work related to law-based governance.

The program aims to cultivate a cohort of foreign-related legal professionals with firm political stances, sound legal proficiency, knowledge of international rules, and expertise in foreign-related legal practices.

Adopting a practice-oriented approach, the program featured lectures delivered by officials from relevant central departments, experts, scholars, and legal practitioners, supplemented by case-study sessions. Topics of the lectures ranged from Xi Jinping Thought on the Rule of Law, foreign-related laws, regulations and policies, to cross-border dispute resolution.

More than 970 foreign-related lawyers and over 560 corporate lawyers from relevant central State-owned enterprises (SOEs) as well as from some SOEs and private enterprises in provincial regions participated in the training program.
