The Ministry of Justice and the National Office of Law Popularization jointly ran this year's second national training session for legally savvy talents in Fuzhou, East China's Jiangxi province, from Oct 28 to 30, marking the official commencement of full-coverage training across the country.

Vice-Minister of Justice Hu Weilie and Vice-Governor of Jiangxi Province Yuan Qinhua addressed the training session's opening ceremony.

The training underscored the importance of the cultivation of legally savvy talents, highlighting their crucial role in strengthening the Party's governance foundation and promoting the development of a law-based society. It emphasized the need for participants to enhance awareness and capability in fulfilling their duties, calling for their active engagement in grassroots law-based governance in various ways, including reporting on social conditions and public opinions, publicizing policies and laws, resolving disputes and guiding legal practice.

The training also called on participants to strengthen learning and practice, and improve their ability to guide the public in resolving practical issues through law-based approaches. Additionally, judicial administrative organs at all levels were urged to create favorable conditions for legally savvy talents to fully tap into their roles.

The training covered a wide range of topics, including promoting Xi Jinping Thought on the Rule of Law, implementing the guiding principles of the third plenary session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, supporting the deepening of rural reforms, adhering to and developing the "Fengqiao Experience" - a mediation mechanism for grassroots dispute resolution - in the new era, and enhancing participants' capability of mediating and resolving disputes. It also featured lectures delivered by legal experts through various forms, including on-site teaching, audio-visual learning, experience sharing and group discussions.

The training featured both online and offline lectures, with more than 100 participants attending in person and more than 120,000 legally savvy talents nationwide participating in the first day's training via video link.
