China's Vice-Minister of Justice Wang Zhenjiang meets with a delegation led by Cuban Deputy Minister of Justice Yashna Diaz in Beijing on Oct 25.

Wang briefed Yashna on the guiding principles of the third plenary session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. He also expounded on the efforts made by China's Ministry of Justice (MOJ) in promoting the rule of law to support high-quality socioeconomic development and comprehensively advance Chinese modernization on the track of the rule of law. These efforts are aligned with the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, he said.

He noted that the traditional friendship between the two parties and two countries has withstood the test of time and continued to flourish and deepen, serving as a model of solidarity and cooperation between socialist countries and sincere mutual assistance between developing countries.

China's MOJ is willing to work with its Cuban counterpart to jointly implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, and deepen exchanges and cooperation in such areas as legislation, notarization, legal publicity, legal services and personnel training, Wang said. These efforts aim to continuously enrich the connotation of the special friendship between China and Cuba in the new era, and ensure the sustained and steady development of the building of a China-Cuba community with a shared future, Wang added.

Yashna lauded China's achievements in the development of the rule of law and said the Cuban Ministry of Justice is willing to continue deepening bilateral cooperation to further promote the building of socialist rule of law in both countries.
