Minister of justice meets with head of Iraqi Federal Commission of Integrity and Brazil’s attorney-general

China's Minister of Justice He Rong held talks with Haidar Hanon, head of the Iraqi Federal Commission of Integrity, and Jorge Messias, Brazil's attorney-general, separately in Beijing on Sept 23.

While meeting with Hanon, He Rong noted that China and Iraq enjoy a profound traditional friendship, saying that China's Ministry of Justice (MOJ) is willing to work with the Iraqi Federal Commission of Integrity to effectively implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, and further expand channels and platforms for bilateral exchanges and cooperation based on their respective responsibilities, in a bid to provide legal guarantees for deepening the China-Iraq strategic partnership.

Hanon expressed his willingness to strengthen exchanges and mutual learning in areas of law and judicial administration with China's MOJ so as to better serve the economic and social development of both countries.

While meeting with Messias, the minister noted that this year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Brazil. China's MOJ is willing to strengthen exchanges with the Attorney General's Office of Brazil, and deepen pragmatic cooperation in areas such as legal services involving lawyers and arbitration, and the construction of a law-based business environment, so as to contribute legal strength to the further development of China-Brazil relations, she said.

Messias said that the Brazilian side is ready to enhance cooperation with China's MOJ in the rule of law to advance the sustained development of the bilateral relationship.

Iraqi Ambassador to China Shorsh Khalid Said and Brazilian Ambassador to China Marcos Galvao also attended the meetings.
