BEIJING -- China has 754,000 legal service agencies and nearly 4 million professional legal service personnel, the country's Ministry of Justice (MOJ) said at a press conference Friday.
The legal service agencies include law firms, notary offices, forensic authentication institutions, legal aid agencies, arbitration organizations, and people's mediation committees.
The country has established 590,000 offline public legal service platforms and more than 600,000 villages and communities have been equipped with legal advisors, according to the ministry.
Yang Xiangbin, director of the MOJ's bureau of public legal service administration, said at the press conference that public legal services are a foundational part of China's law-based governance, adding that the country has established an inclusive public legal service system covering both urban and rural areas.
