Dalian International Commercial Mediation Center, the first foreign-related commercial mediation institution in Northeast China, was unveiled in Dalian, Liaoning province on Aug 30.
Organized and promoted by the justice bureau of Dalian and independently initiated by the Dalian Lawyers Association, the mediation center marks a significant advancement in the efforts of the city and also the province to promote foreign-related rule of law and improve mechanisms for diversified dispute resolution.
The center is managed as a private non-enterprise unit, adopting market-oriented operations, and aligning with international mediation rules.
It upholds the principles of integrity and trustworthiness, fairness and justice, efficiency and convenience to provide domestic and foreign enterprises with one-stop commercial dispute mediation services featuring convenience, high efficiency and high quality in areas such as international trade, cross-border investment, capital markets, maritime issues, intellectual property rights, information security, and the digital economy.
Since its registration, the center has intensified efforts to improve its mediation services for the resolution of international commercial disputes.
It has issued a notice on establishing a work coordination mechanism for international commercial mediation, set up a commercial dispute mediation service team comprising 30 members, including senior lawyers, legal experts, and university professors from home and abroad, and established a standardized case handling process covering filing, acceptance, mediation, and judicial or arbitration confirmation.
Additionally, the center is actively in establishing an effective dispute resolution mechanism that integrates mediation, notarization, arbitration, and litigation. It has signed strategic cooperation framework agreements with nine units, including the Dalian Intermediate People's Court, and engaged in exchanges and cooperation with international commercial mediation organizations in Singapore and South Korea, as well as with domestic partners in Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Sanya.
These efforts aim to promote its mediation services for diversified commercial dispute resolution with more professional, international, and high-level mediation forces.
